REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: 01/07/2026

1. PURPOSE

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which refunds, credits, cancellations, chargebacks, disputes, and payment adjustments may be granted by StartDotCom.

This Policy forms part of the:

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Data Policy
  • Acceptable Use Policy

By subscribing to, purchasing, or using any StartDotCom Services, you agree to this Refund Policy.

2. GENERAL PRINCIPLE

StartDotCom operates a subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

Because users gain immediate access to digital services, software functionality, infrastructure resources, artificial intelligence systems, generated outputs, storage, and platform capabilities, payments are generally non-refundable except where:

  • Required by applicable law.
  • Explicitly stated in a separate written agreement.
  • Approved by StartDotCom at its sole discretion.

3. FREE TRIALS

Where free trials are offered:

  • Users may cancel at any time before trial expiry.
  • Failure to cancel before trial expiry may result in automatic conversion to a paid subscription.
  • Once a paid subscription begins, normal billing terms apply.

Unused trial periods do not carry monetary value and cannot be exchanged for refunds or credits.

4. SUBSCRIPTION FEES

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis.

Examples include:

  • Monthly subscriptions
  • Annual subscriptions
  • Multi-year agreements
  • Enterprise contracts

Unless required by law or expressly agreed otherwise:

  • Subscription fees are non-refundable.
  • Partial subscription periods are non-refundable.
  • Downgrades do not generate refunds.
  • Unused subscriptions do not generate refunds.

Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not entitle users to refunds for the current billing period.

5. ANNUAL PLANS

Annual subscriptions are offered at discounted rates in exchange for longer-term commitments.

Unless required by law:

  • Annual subscriptions are non-refundable.
  • Early termination does not create refund entitlement.
  • Partial year usage is not refundable.

Users should carefully evaluate annual commitments before purchase.

6. ACCOUNT CANCELLATION

Users may cancel subscriptions at any time through their account settings or by contacting support.

Upon cancellation:

  • Access continues until the end of the active billing period unless otherwise stated.
  • No further recurring charges will occur after the current subscription term.
  • Previously paid fees remain non-refundable.

Cancellation does not automatically delete account data.

Data handling remains governed by the Data Policy.

7. AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS

StartDotCom provides access to artificial intelligence systems capable of generating:

  • Business plans
  • Marketing content
  • Websites
  • Landing pages
  • Automation workflows
  • Business recommendations
  • Branding assets
  • Sales materials
  • Social media content
  • Other generated outputs

Because AI resources are consumed immediately when generation occurs:

  • AI usage is non-refundable.
  • Generated outputs are non-refundable.
  • Dissatisfaction with generated outputs does not constitute grounds for refund.
  • Variations in output quality do not constitute service failure.

Users are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating AI-generated outputs.

8. CREDIT PURCHASES

Where StartDotCom offers usage credits, tokens, generation credits, publishing credits, domain credits, or similar digital units:

  • Credits are non-refundable.
  • Credits are non-transferable unless expressly authorised.
  • Credits cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Expired credits may not be recoverable.

Credits may be revoked where fraud, abuse, or misuse is identified.

9. DOMAIN REGISTRATIONS

Where domain-related services are offered:

  • Domain registrations are generally non-refundable.
  • Domain renewals are generally non-refundable.
  • Domain transfers are generally non-refundable.
  • Domain purchases cannot typically be reversed after registration.

This reflects industry registrar practices and third-party registry requirements.

Users remain responsible for domain management and renewal decisions.

10. WEBSITE PUBLISHING SERVICES

Where users publish websites, ecommerce stores, applications, landing pages, or digital assets using StartDotCom:

  • Publishing fees are generally non-refundable.
  • Hosting fees are generally non-refundable.
  • Infrastructure charges are generally non-refundable once incurred.

Users should review configurations before publishing.

11. MARKETPLACE SERVICES

Where StartDotCom facilitates introductions to third-party providers, agencies, consultants, freelancers, partners, or service providers:

  • Fees paid directly to third parties are governed by agreements between those parties.
  • StartDotCom is not responsible for third-party refund decisions.
  • StartDotCom is not responsible for work quality, delivery timelines, or outcomes.

Refund requests involving third-party providers should be directed to the relevant provider.

12. PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Where StartDotCom provides:

  • Consulting
  • Implementation assistance
  • Migration services
  • Setup services
  • Training
  • Custom development
  • Managed services

such services become non-refundable once work has commenced unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Completed work remains chargeable even where projects are subsequently paused or terminated.

13. ENTERPRISE AGREEMENTS

Enterprise customers may be subject to separate agreements.

Where a negotiated enterprise agreement contains refund provisions, those provisions shall prevail over this Policy to the extent of any inconsistency.

14. CHARGEBACKS

Users agree not to initiate unjustified chargebacks or payment disputes.

Examples of prohibited conduct include:

  • Claiming authorised transactions were unauthorised.
  • Attempting to avoid valid subscription fees.
  • Seeking duplicate refunds through multiple channels.
  • Misrepresenting service usage.

Where a chargeback occurs, StartDotCom may:

  • Suspend access.
  • Restrict account functionality.
  • Recover fees incurred.
  • Provide evidence to payment providers.
  • Pursue recovery through legal channels.

15. FRAUDULENT REFUND REQUESTS

StartDotCom reserves the right to deny refund requests involving:

  • Fraud
  • Abuse
  • Misrepresentation
  • Chargeback manipulation
  • Promotional abuse
  • Trial abuse
  • Policy circumvention

Accounts involved in fraudulent refund activity may be terminated.

16. EXCEPTIONAL REFUNDS

In limited circumstances, StartDotCom may provide:

  • Full refunds
  • Partial refunds
  • Service credits
  • Billing adjustments

Any such decision shall be made at StartDotCom's sole discretion and does not establish precedent for future requests.

17. REGULATORY RIGHTS

Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.

Where mandatory legal rights apply, those rights shall prevail.

18. REQUESTING A REFUND REVIEW

Refund requests should be submitted to: billing@startdotcom.com

Requests should include:

  • Account email address
  • Invoice reference
  • Transaction reference
  • Detailed explanation

Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

19. POLICY CHANGES

Updated versions become effective upon publication unless otherwise stated.

Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of revised versions.
